Katie Breen

As General Counsel, Katie specializes in energy management and regulatory compliance.  With a broad range of legal and regulatory experience, Katie brings a unique combination of legal expertise, strategic thinking, and industry knowledge to her role.

Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a concentration in Public Law, and in Social Science-Interdisciplinary, with a concentration in Legal Studies, from The State University of New York at Buffalo, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.  She also holds a Juris Doctor from The State University of New York at Buffalo, where she graduated Cum Laude and received the American Law Institute Scholarship and Leadership Award.

Prior to joining Resource Energy, Katie served as the Senior Corporate attorney at Keter Environmental Services, Inc. where she managed a team of attorneys and paralegals that focused on recycling and waste management services.  In addition, Katie has an expansive litigation background working at various law firms including, McCarter & English, LLP, Leopold & Associates, PLLC and The Prince Law Group, LLC.  She also previously served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Lisa Bloch Rodwin and served as a volunteer at several not-for-profit agencies, including Neighborhood Legal Services, Inc.

Throughout her career, Katie has advised companies on a wide range of legal matters from contract negotiations and risk management to regulatory compliance and corporate governance.  As a result, Katie has a comprehensive understanding of the legal challenges that energy management companies face.

Katie plays a critical role as Associate General Counsel in guiding the Company through the ever-evolving energy industry.  She collaborates closely with the members of the management team, providing expert legal counsel that aligns with the Company’s strategic objectives. With her ability to identify potential risks and opportunities, Katie ensures that the Company operates within legal boundaries while maximizing its growth potential.
